Niamh Smithers, M.A. (she/her) is a pre-licensed clinician working towards a License in Mental Health Counseling. Niamh earned her B.A. in Psychology from UMass Amherst in 2019 and graduated with her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Framingham State University in 2023 where she spent time working with clients recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges.

Her common areas of focus include anxiety, depression, substance abuse and suicide prevention. Niamh integrates principles from several treatment modalities into her sessions including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Expressive Therapies.

She utilizes a person-centered approach to allow the uniqueness of each individual client to help guide treatment and helps empower clients to actively engage in their mental health journey.

Niamh is an artist in her free time and is passionate about expressive therapies and the use of art in supporting mental health and emotional regulation and processing. Read more about Niamh here.
