Emily Kennedy, LICSW is an independently licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience in both outpatient and inpatient mental health treatment settings. Emily received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College.
Emily has worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults and families. Her areas of expertise include treating individuals with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, behavioral and school issues, and PTSD. She has also worked with individuals confronting different life events including divorce, adoption as well as caring for people with chronic health issues. Emily is a validating and skillful therapist who provides cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused approaches to her clients Her style is interactive and supportive while also utilizing a strength based approach. She assists individuals in identifying thinking patterns and in developing greater emotional awareness. During sessions, Emily collaborates with individuals to develop goals and to help maximize their functioning. She believes in the mind body connection as a means to improve physical and emotional health. As part of her practice, Emily teaches mind-body techniques such as deep breathing, visualization and other meditation skills. She also has certification in level one Reiki. |
