Dr. Valarie Clemente-Crain, Ed.D., (she/her) is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience in a variety of settings. She attended UMASS Amherst as an undergraduate in Psychology and completed her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Counseling Psychology at Boston University, which included a specialization in Counseling Women.
She has particular expertise in treating adolescents, adults, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and marginalized communities and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. Clemente-Crain treats those with a variety of concerns, including but not limited to mood disorders, trauma, relationship and family difficulties, and learning challenges. Dr. Clemente-Crain uses an integrated approach, and her work is particularly informed by relational-culture, cognitive-behavioral and insight-oriented approaches. She is attentive to the context in which one lives and how that can impact one's psychological functioning. Her style is interpersonal, collaborative and strength based. At Quinsigamond Community College since 2009, she is a tenured professor of psychology and teaches courses including Adolescence and Introduction to Counseling. |
